Concrete Sand

Concrete sand — also known as Washed Concrete Sand, Manufactured Sand, Pipe Sand or Utility Sand — is an aggregate sand which is usually composed of either gneiss, trap rock, limestone or granite. Crushed at the quarry and then washed and screened for quality, this process makes certain that there are no large rocks within the material.

This type of sand is most commonly utilized as a key ingredient in cement or hot asphalt, but is also used as pipe sand or as a base layer and leveling medium for above ground pools, and patios or walkways made out of concrete paving stones.
